Full Live+Digital Under The Crown (UTC) Promotion

Tanzania Breweries has been delighting consumers with its locally-brewed Balimi Extra for years. In 2024, the brand took its annual harvest promotion in the North West region to new heights by partnering with Exp Tanzania to deliver an unforgettable experience.

 

Leveraging Digital Innovation

Building on the success of a trial run in 2023, Exp Tanzania was entrusted with the full management and execution of the 2024 campaign. The team leveraged their unique, always-on and mobile-first digital promotional platform to engage consumers across both digital and live touch points.

 

Ensuring Fairness and Transparency

The digital platform's UTC management capabilities were crucial to the campaign's success. Exp Tanzania generated 41 million unique codes, set up USSD short codes with all Tanzanian Telecom providers, and implemented a prize management algorithm (on the platform) that ensured risk free allocation of rewards and the distribution of prizes (off the platform).

Bringing the Harvest to Life

The Brand experience executed at the bar activations embodied ‘the fruits of the harvest" theme, celebrating the fact that Balimi Extra is brewed using locally-sourced crops from Tanzania.

This resonated strongly with consumers, who appreciated the brand's commitment to supporting local farmers, resulting in the campaign generating almost 300 000 entries that contributed towards an increase in sales that has not been seen for many years.
